Fairfax may need to check their advertising...

Visit Alice Springs for Trekking? In a story line about a woman gone missing while trekking? Too funny...

Hold onto yer hats - this is image heavy!

Well, firstly some noice pics from my birthday on Monday. Thanks to everyone who came, I had the best time. I feel blessed to have such a great group of people in my life!

Tuesday was the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence history walk on Oxford St with Emily. The sisters were great - i never realised what actually happended 30 years ago, and listening to the people who were there made it so real. Plus hanging out with gay men dressed as nuns is high on my fun list.

That night Sydney got hit by a CRAZY hail storm. It flooded our street and the woman down stairs.

Last night was Margaret Cho - she was awesome! Web-goddess, The Boi and 2 other friends came as well. I think the only straight people were Kris and one other fag-hag. Soooo many gay boys though!

The opening act was a trans-guy called Ian Harvie - that was suprising. The Boi and I could relate pretty much 100% to what he was talking about - Web-goddess said she'll never look at him the same way again. I'll never look at Snook the same way again after the balls discussion so we are even.
When we were leaving we bumped into Mark Trevorrow aka Bob Downe. I love him so much, but forgot to ask if he was going back on Good News Week (his duets with Paul McDermott killed me).

The Boi and I went to a dungeon-party last night as part of the 2-day celebration of being old. We had heaps of fun, and I got off really lightly compared to him ;D.

Tonite a dozen of us are going to Green Palace Thai Vegetarian for dinner (yay- fake meat) which should be great. Nothing better than eating and chatting with friends.

Tomorrow Emily and I are doing the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence Oxford St History Walk (i love pierced gay men dressed as nuns), and on Wednesday, Web-Goddess and bunch of us queers are going to see Margaret Cho.

Great week! Mardi Gras is this Saturday too - better go buy my tickets I guess :D.

Wow. Complete awesomeness.

This grrl used cables and twisted stitches to make wings on the back of her jumper.
And she put up her chart. Hmmm.... This is going in the queue....

Its a bit quiet round here....

But the past week has been a flurry of action, promise!

I've been asked by a lovely yarn-artist to design a sock pattern using her yarn. It really is lovely stuff.... I made 3-4 lace samples in the round, and chose the one that worked the best. Now i'm knitting up the proto-type to send back to her. I'll post more info when its a done deal.

I've also been working away on Juno Regina and my Secret Pal's bag for the Swap. I dyed all the yarn with food colour, and it looks neat! (it was orignally a misty-sage green). I hope she likes it...

Hellfire was a big fizzer - it was the worst time we've ever been there. It was so bad we didnt even hang around after the first show, we left at 11.30. Oh well....

Damo (the marketing guy from Australian Country Spinners) is coming to Sydney on Wednesday, so a group of us are going to meet him and knit for a while in the pub. The Boi is not impressed that i'll be knitting 3 nights in a row, but a girls gotta keep sane!

Hehe

That made me laugh.... Sex-Bro-Ary. LOL.

Knitting and Opera in the Domain on Saturday rawked! 4 of us hard-core peeps got there at 12 noon(didnt start til 8pm) and knitting for 8 hours straight. We had to get the best spot you see. I think there was about 15-20 people in all who came in the knitters group, and thousands upon thousands of non-knitters. OtherAndrew has some great photos here... So does KnittingMuso...

What was with the crazy raffle ticket sellers? One guy wouldnt take no for an answer (and came up to us and said "You're all knitters, you must be rich!" - we're sitting on beach chairs watching free opera and eating Sakatas. Very rich). Another woman told us to enjoy the opera that night, it might be our last. Our last what? Was she coming back to get us? Was she and her Opera buddies gonna ambush us in the street cos we didnt buy her $5 raffle tickets? Crazy...

Well, the night before last I cast on for my Affair to Remember Curvilishious Skirt. As part of stash-busting, i'm trying to use up my stash and the only thing with enough drape that was on hand was Patons Zhivago. Its held double through out, so hopefully this will be a quick knit. The pattern itself had a few errors but the corrections are here.
