Pattern: Jenny, by Sarah Dallas for Rowan 37
Yarn: Bendigo Cotton 8ply in Black for the body (1.75 balls), Spotlight Cotton Basics for the pink (0.5 balls)
Size: The largest, I think its 40 inch? That made negative 1.5inch ease.

I really liked this pattern, its so simple but so effective. The only things I did differently was add 5cm to the length, and pick up waaaay less stitches on the neckline (40% less). When I had sewn it together and tried it on, the neckline came down to the edges of my shoulders - a tight cast off helped as well.

The Bendigo Cotton was a good cheap choice for this project (I think the whole thing cost $25 to make) but I think it might pill a bit - it already looks slightly aged. I might make another in future in a better cotton.

The best bit - The Boi likes it. Hy never likes my knitted cardigans/jumpers, but he actually gave it praise. Surely a good sign.

A jolly good weekend.

Mz Butch 2008 was a blast! We had such a good time - so many dykes (and butches in leather), and people we hadnt seen for ages.

Drinking champagne, dancing like an idiot to Meatloaf and Jet (great Drag Show done by Naomi - the MC from Bingay) and lots of perving. Was nearly dragged on stage by my friends when they asked for femme judges from the audience.

Then this morning, getting the preview email of Interweave Knits Winter issue - swoon!

I cant wait to see the issue in person.

Sydney Festival

My friends all know about my secret love. The only man who does it for me - and now he's back for the Sydney Festival.

Nick Cave headlines and curates All Tomorrows Parties on Cockatoo Island!
Swoon~!

Grace Jones is here, and there looks like some really awesome events this year - I want to see The Tell-Tale Heart, La Clique, The Nargun and The Stars (read that when I was a kid) and Enter The Dragon (woot!).

Does anyone else like Nick enough to pay $150 to come see him with me? hehehe

Secret Pal Swap

Finally finished. The theme was 100gram challenge - I came in under 100g so I think I got that covered.

So, lace scarf, cute pumpkiny-coloured stitch markers from Etsy, Woolshack Lipbalm, chocolate and a kawaii notebook with crocheted critters on the front (courtesy of The Boi, who found them in Thailand).

Better go and post it today.

Here is a better photo of the scarf (same yarn as my sister's wedding shawl, since it it AWESOME)

Good Luck Yanks!

You guys have suffered enough under Bush (and so have we) - here's hoping for a Change for you guys...
